Maple Program [M]

The first field trip for the fall semester (pottery making and visiting the Museum of Ceramic Art, Hyogo) [10月 18,2017 ]

The Maple students went on their first field trip for the Program’s fall semester on October 17, 2017. They went to Tanba-Sasayama to experience the pottery making, as part of their special seminar on Japanese Language and Culture. In this course we aim to improve the ability to gain knowledge, to relay information, and to discuss. The objectives of this trip are “experience and know” and “research on their own” about the pottery.

The Student made their very own original pottery at Tanba Traditional Art Craft Park “Sue no Sato”, before they visited the exhibition areas in the park and the Museum of Ceramic Art, Hyogo, which is located next to the park. Each student enjoyed their own valuable experience and learning according to their interests; some students observed the art works of pottery, some learned how the pottery are used in the daily lives, and some visited the Nobori-gama (the special kiln), etc.

we will develop a better understanding on the pottery through the activities of “telling their own experience to others” and “reporting others’ experience” in the next few classes.
